Katie Challen
farmer & founder
I guess you could say the Rein Fields story began many years ago, when I was just a young girl. I grew up alongside the vines that my family tended to in the Finger Lakes region of New York State. Country living crept into my soul and the desire to live amongst nature never faded. Now, my young children are finding their own connections to country living, to nature, and to this world by learning to grow and care for our small piece of land here in Perth, Ontario. Rein Fields is by definition, a cut flower farm. But, it's also so much more. It's a link between farmer and community, between people and nature, and a story of a little girl who grew up to live her dream.
Our Story
We are rein fields.
This is us. In 2021 we made a big change. On a whim we bought an old homestead. We sold our historical home in town and we headed for the country. We wasted no time making our mark on our new property. We added gardens, built a chicken coop and filled it with 30 chickens + 1 bunny. We dreamt of what our small piece of the world could do for us, for our community, and for our planet. We find comfort in taking action for the welfare of our earth by improving our soil, by observing what the terrain of our farm fields need, and by adding diverse plantings so pollinators thrive. It's a constant learning process, but it's a joy to be able to live this dream. We are inspired by nature and strive to bring you whimsical flowers to adorn your homes.
